AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Wednesday, an Austintown man pleaded guilty to charges of arson and telephone harassment stemming from two incidents in the fall of 2014.
Brandon Young, 18, will spend 10 days in jail and a year under probation, among other penalties, according to an Austintown Clerk of Courts official.
According to a police report, a woman told Austintown Police on Nov. 3 that Young messaged the woman’s daughter and made a comment implying that someone was telling him to kill her. Later in the conversation, Young stated, “This isn’t me….demonic entities are fighting for control over my body,'” according to the police report.
The girl forwarded the complaints to her guidance counselor and principal before her and her mother went to police.
Police and fire reports show that Young received a charge of arson after someone reported a fire in an Austintown Fitch High School bathroom on Oct. 2. The fire was out by the time Austintown firefighters arrived on the scene.
