WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – Warren Police Detective Sgt. Joe Kistler told WYTV that a man was having sex with dogs earlier this year and has been charged in connection with the incident.

Kistler said that Salvador Rendon, 61, committed the acts repeatedly over a period of six years with two dogs, although a criminal complaint alleges that the most recent act was in early March. Rendon is charged with cruelty to animals, a second-degree misdemeanor.

Rendon was booked Sunday morning.

Ohio does not have a law specifically banning human-animal intercourse.

The dogs were scheduled to be examined by a veterinarian Monday. Rendon will be arraigned again Thursday afternoon.
