JEFFERSON, Ohio (WYTV) – The Ashtabula County man charged in the death of Warren teen Alesha Bell was sentenced Monday on federal charges.

James Brooks, 41, of Roaming Shores, will be spending the next 21 years in prison for distributing heroin and cocaine.

He is also facing charges of involuntary manslaughter, kidnapping and human trafficking in Bell’s death.

The 18-year-old went missing last July. Her remains were found in a fire pit at Brooks’ home on Route 6.

Brooks has admitted he was with Bell the day she went missing.

Investigators say he used Bell and possibly seven or eight other women as part of a human trafficking ring.
