A Youngstown man charged with severely beating his wife was indicted on two counts of murder charges by a Mahoning Country grand jury.

Jason Hymes, Sr. was previously charged with felonious assault for beating his wife at a bar in February.

Prosecutors say Hymes was in a fight with his wife at Topsy’s Lounge on the north side of Youngstown when he started punching her in the face. The bond was set for Hymes at $100,000.

The victim, who suffered a brain injury after the alleged assault, died in the hospital.

The grand jury also indicted Hymes on one count of felonious assault and one count of domestic violence.
