Lisbon police say bank robber removed hoodie from face when staff asked him to

Local News

It took Lisbon police less than an hour to catch a bank robber on Thursday.

Farmers National Bank on N. Jefferson Street was held up around 3:30 p.m.

A man covering his face with a light gray hoodie walked into bank, but they asked him to remove the hoodie and he did. Because of that, surveillance cameras got a good look at his face.

Then he handed a note to the teller, claiming he had a bomb and wanted money.

The suspect, 34-year-old Michael Lewis, was spotted walking along E. Washington Street. He took off running and was caught in a nearby creek.

Lewis had the $150 he got from the robbery on him, police said.

He is charged with robbery and being held at the Columbiana County Jail.
