CAMPBELL, Ohio (WYTV) – Friday, Campbell Law Dept. Director Brian Macala confirmed to WKBN that physical interaction occurred between a Campbell teacher, who recently resigned and then was charged with sexual battery, and a student of hers.
Shannon Pavlansky-Wojtowicz, 30, of Campbell, turned herself in to the Campbell Police Department Friday, Feb. 13. Authorities formally arraigned her on the charges Tuesday.
No new charges have been filed, and Macala declined further comment, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation into the case.
Agents with DeWine’s Crimes Against Children Unit, which is a division of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, began investigating Pavlansky-Wojtowicz in January after the Campbell Police Department received a tip regarding the alleged inappropriate relationship.
She was placed on unpaid leave Jan. 19 pending the investigation and resigned on Feb. 3. She was employed with the district since 2009.
Campbell Schools Superintendent Matt Bowen filed a complaint with the police department Jan. 16.
