JACKSON CENTER, Pa. (WYTV) – A business fire in Mercer County kept crews busy early Friday morning.

It happened around 3 a.m. at International Timber and Veneer in Jackson Center.

The Jackson Center Volunteer Fire Company posted to Facebook, stating that they contained the fire to the large industrial dryer.

Matt Roberts, who works in human resources at the company, said they use the unit to dry the veneer. It is an all-steel unit, so the fire was contained without significant damage.

When our First News crew arrived the building was filled with smoke, and all personnel was evacuated.

Roberts said they are glad that it did not cause damage to the building and that everyone was safe.
