VIENNA, Ohio (WKBN) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that happened in a construction zone in Vienna.
The crash happened on State Route 82 near Sodom Hutchings Road. It happened just after 10:45 a.m. Wednesday.
Troopers say a semi-truck and a red Geo were involved, causing damage to the passenger side of the car and the back end of the driver’s side of the trailer.
Witnesses to the crash called 911. Two described it as being related to road rage, according to dispatch reports.
“There was a semi that just hit a car I guess on Route 5 and then the gentleman followed him to Route 82 and he just hit him again on Route 82,” a caller said.
“A tractor-trailer just absolutely slammed right into a little red, I don’t even know, a small, compact car. Didn’t look like there were any injuries, in fact, they were starting to scream at each other,” another caller said.
No one was taken to the hospital.
No citations have been issued yet, but the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. Troopers say both drivers are cooperating in the investigation.
