YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – A Mahoning County grand jury indicted a man accused of shooting a Youngstown woman.
James Sunderman faces a felonious assault charge with firearm specifications.
In November, police were sent to a house on Canton Street, where they found a woman who had been shot in the leg.
Sunderman told police the woman had shot herself, but police said his story didn’t add up.
Police found a shotgun that appeared to be jammed from a misfeed. Officers said it would have been difficult for the victim to shoot herself due to the length of the shotgun barrell.
The woman told police officers that Sunderman shot her after accusing her of cheating on him.
