YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Golfers teed up for a good cause in Youngstown on Friday.
Thirty-six teams hit the links at the Youngstown Country Club for the sixth annual Clubs for Kids Classic.
All money raised at the event goes to Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley. The event has already raised more than $300,000 over the past six years.
JoAnn Stock, senior director of development at Akron Children’s Hospital, said the event is a major fundraiser for the hospital.
“We have a sold-out event with 144 golfers, 36 teams, and it’s all for a great cause to support our local children’s hospital,” she said.
More than 60 kids also participated in a youth golf clinic, and a bagpiper was used to summon the golfers to their carts.
