GIRARD, Ohio (WYTV) — A 10 year murder mystery still goes unsolved in Girard. A family is still waiting for answers to the murder that killed a mother and two children.

A candle light vigil was held Sunday for the 10th anniversary of their deaths. The family says even though its been a decade, they are still searching for the person responsible for the blaze.

It was a somber evening as family and friends held a candle light vigil to remember Lena Cross and her two sons, Mason Cross and Christian Pizzulo.

The three lost their lives in a house fire Sept. 13, 2005.

“Nobody would tell me anything until I got to the scene what had happened and when I found out, my life when downhill from there,” said Karen Booth, a family member.

Booth lost her daughter and two grandsons.

“A part of me died. My heart fell,” said Booth.

At the vigil, every hand holding onto a candle, also held onto a special memory.

“All the memories that we have with them, all the love that we have for them, and everything that we’ve gone through and been through that each and everyone of us here has been through with them,” said Booth.

Douglas Cross has fresh memories of his sister and nephews who died.

He says he lost his world.

“That was my life. My little nephews, that was everything,” said Douglas Cross, a family member.

Ten years later, the family still hasn’t gotten any answers about who murdered their relatives.

“It breaks you down. We know someone knows something,” said Cross.

“It’s been a really bad ordeal that I’ve had to go through this for so many years and don’t have anything resolved. But, when you have people like this coming forth to be with you, it’s a blessing,” said Booth.

While the family mourns their loss, they’re determined to get answers.

“We got to keep positive and get to the bottom of this,” said Cross.
