BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – An EV Fest is happening in Boardman on Saturday.

It will be at the #1 Cochran Buick GMC dealership on Market Street from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will highlight electric vehicles — not only ones on the lot, but also those that people will be driving in.

Derek Snyder is the platform director for #1 Cochran. He said these types of events have been going on in the area for a while in larger communities. He said #1 Cochran wanted to be the first to bring the EV Fest to the Valley.

On Friday, seven of the new EVs being sold in the #1 Cochran dealerships were on display — among them was a Cadillac, a Nissan and some Mustangs.

“We are going to see a plethora of vehicles that are already registered here. We’ve got a wide range of makes and models — everything from Teslas, Rivians, Chevys, Fords, Cadillacs — you name it,” Snyder said.

People who go can test-drive the vehicles and get all of their EV questions answered.

“We want to get people acclimated to what it’s like to own one of these and actually think of it as an actual, possible, viable solution for a vehicle for them in the future,” Snyder said. “So by getting here, it’ll help alleviate some of the range anxiety and questions like that that they might have had and get familiar with the technologies.”

OH WOW! will have STEM activities for children, there will be food trucks and they’ll be giving away Travis Scott and Pittsburgh Penguins tickets.

The event is free and open to the public.
