Driver turns self in after Milton Twp. hit-skip

MILTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WYTV) – A North Jackson man turned himself in to police Monday after hitting a Milton Township police cruiser Sunday evening, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

According to police, Jeffrey Yaratch Jr., 25, of North Jackson turned himself in around noon Monday, receiving charges of not maintaining an assured clear distance ahead and leaving the scene of an accident.

Yaratch hit a Milton Township police car Sunday night on Mahoning Avenue, east of Bailey Road.

The police cruiser was traveling westbound on Mahoning Ave. at 45 mph when Yaratch’s vehicle hit it, then went left of the center line and hit another car. The man in that vehicle was not injured.
