HOWLAND TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN)- Crews are investigating the cause of a fire that happened at a laundromat Friday in Howland Township.
Crews were called to the Mayfair Laundromat on Elm Road shortly before 11:30 a.m. for a dryer fire.
Firefighters believe someone passing by saw flames coming from a dryer and called it in. Clothes were bring dried but no customers were inside at the time.
The damage was contained to that one dryer.
No injuries were reported.
“It definitely could have been a lot worse, we were very fortunate that both the front door and the back door were closed and there was no fresh air getting to the fire until our guys showed up,” said Howland Fire Department assistant chief Jim Sapp.
Firefighters said they don’t know what caused the fire.
