YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Mother Nature may not be cooperating, but workers at Mill Creek Park are getting the park’s ice rink ready.

Crews began filling the liner for the rink at the Wick Recreation Center on Tuesday. It will take two days to fill it.

Then, it will up to Mother Nature to do the rest when freezing temperatures roll around.

Days and times that the rink will be open have not yet been set. Park officials said that will happen once the rink is frozen, because the rink is not supported by a refrigeration system.

It is the first time in approximately 10 years that ice skating will be available at the Wick Recreation Center.
