WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A person was found dead after a garage fire in Warren on Monday.
Daniel Harigan, 49, of Warren was identified as the victim of the fire, according to police.
His body was found under the debris.
The fire broke out just after 7 p.m. in the 190 block of Griswold Street NE. Griswold runs off of North Park Avenue in a former industrial area of the city where Packard Electric once had its operations.
Investigators are trying to figure out what started the fire.
An autopsy on Harigan is scheduled for Wednesday.
The owner of the building said there were six spaces inside and that five of them were being used. One of them was by a mechanic with cars and another person restoring furniture.
“The fire had extended throughout the remainder of the complex. It was up to the roof area. It was very difficult in addition to all of the vehicles and other debris. It was extremely difficult to extinguish,” said Fire Chief Ken Nussle.
