The crash happened in the area of Youngstown Hubbard (Route 62) and Bell Wick roads

HUBBARD TWP., Ohio (WYTV) – Three people were taken to the hospital Wednesday morning after a crash on Youngstown Hubbard Road (Route 62).

The accident happened near Bell Wick Road around 9 a.m.

Three vehicles were involved in the crash — a dump truck pulling a trailer and two pickup trucks.

Witnesses said a pickup truck — driven by Donald J. Wike II, 37, of Hubbard — was traveling westbound when it went left of center and clipped the trailer of the dump truck — driven by James Kulisz, Jr., 42, of Youngstown — which was traveling eastbound.

Wike’s truck was then forced into the path of an oncoming pickup truck traveling eastbound — driven by James A. Huber, 58, of Niles — hitting it head-on.

Both pickups ended up in a ditch.

Officials said Wike was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from his truck. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Huber and his passenger, Dustin J. Allen, 18, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Kulisz was not hurt.

Youngstown Hubbard Road was closed between Bell Wick and Seifert-Lewis roads for a couple of hours as crews cleared the accident. The road has since reopened.
