People ran into Mosquito Lake on Saturday for the annual Polar Plunge, an event raising money for Special Olympics Ohio.
The event brought in roughly $15,000 last year.
Participants started the event a little early to avoid a strong impact from the weekend snowstorm.
One participant said she wanted to do this because she saw her mom do it for many years.
“I’ve wanted to since I was like five. I used to watch mommy do it all the time,” she said.
Many others dressed up in costumes for what they call a family tradition.
