AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The skies over Austintown Township Park were full of color Sunday afternoon.
The 5th Annual Kids Shine for a Cure was held at the park to support children and their families battling cancer, juvenile diabetes and autism.
The event was sponsored by A Way with Words Foundation.
“Not every kid can do everything – play sports. So, if they can come to something like this and feel part of what it is to fly a kite or just watch and be part of it or be part of the music, it is great,” said Brenda Rider, A Way with Words.
Austintown fire, police and D.A.R.E. units brought equipment for kids to explore.
All proceeds benefit local families.
