Last week, the City of Youngstown’s Christmas tree had an unfortunate fall. While crews were working to cut it down in Struthers and take it downtown on Wednesday, the top of the tree snapped off.
On Monday, the city found and cut down a new tree near the corner of Pasadena and Homestead avenues in Youngstown.
The new tree is 41 feet tall, 23 feet wide and weighs 6,000 pounds.
Crews successfully moved it to downtown Youngstown.
The tree will now sit on Central Square for the holiday season.
