Crews were called to a home on SR 153 around 5:30 a.m. Sunday morning

VIENNA TWP., Ohio (WYTV) — A Youngstown woman crashed her car into a house in Vienna Township Sunday morning.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol were called to the crash which occurred at a home located on SR 153 around 5:30 a.m.

The driver, Danielle Beveridge, 33, failed to stop at the stop sign on Smith-Stewart Road at SR 153 and drove across SR 193 and off the roadway where she struck the house, according to a report.

Beveridge was extracted from the car by the Vienna Fire Department and transported to Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital with serious injuries, according to officials.

Vienna Township Trustee Phil Pegg said he was sleeping when it happened. Another person was inside the house at the time, but neither of them was harmed.

Pegg described the sound as a clap of thunder when the SUV crashed into the house.

“The front porch, which is enclosed, move approximately either inches to the south,” said Pegg.

After the wreck, his basement wall was completely gone.

“The structure itself on the southeast corner is all collapsed. The main beam that runs down through the center of our house was crushed,” Pegg said.

Ten years ago, Pegg and his wife enclosed the front porch of their house to enjoy the nice view, but now things are going to have to change temporarily.

“We would watch the morning news, read the paper and have breakfast up there. It was pretty much our spring time place in the morning. It’ll be gone for awhile,” Pegg said.

The OSP are still investigating, but they believe that alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Vienna Twp. Fire Department, EMS and Vienna Twp. Police assisted OSP at the crime scene.

Beveridge was charged with Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence and Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, according to OSP.
