Canfield and New Castle police investigating woman’s assault allegations

Police say the victim was apparently picked up Wednesday night near the Canfield Library, then taken to Pennsylvania and assaulted

CANFIELD, Ohio (WYTV) – Police on both sides of the state line are investigating an incident involving a 19-year-old woman.

Police in Canfield and New Castle say they’re looking into the case.

The victim apparently met up with someone Wednesday night near the Canfield Library, then ended up in Pennsylvania.

Police now believe the girl went to New Castle of her own volition.

Assault allegations were made but police are investigating the circumstances.

The woman was found later that night outside of a convenience store.

Police are looking into the circumstances of the victim getting transported over state lines as well as what happened to her in the hours before she was found.
