CAMPBELL, Ohio – (WYTV) – Federal Marshals arrested Elijah Lashley, 33, Thursday morning , according to Campbell Police, after he was charged Wednesday with kidnapping, felonious assault and rape.
Campbell Police Lieutenant Kevin Sferra said that police in Baltimore will take Lashley to jail before going through a special hearing to send him back to Campbell. Sferra did not know when Lashley would be brought back.
According to a police report, a woman told Campbell police that Lashley started to attack her during an argument they had about Lashley’s drug-use around 11 p.m. Tuesday. That woman also said Lashley started choking her with an electrical wire until she passed out and raped her multiple times throughout the night and threatened to kill her and burn the house down.
Three children were in the home at the time of the assaults.
Lashley then left the house and drove away in a Grey 2001 Honda minivan on Wednesday morning, according to the report.
After Lashley left the Campbell house, the woman said she was able to get free to run to the neighbor’s house for help. Neighbors called 911 around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Campbell Police said when the officer arrived, he and neighbors had to cut the restraints and remove a gag and tape that covered her face. The officer also said the children were asleep when he arrived.
According to Lashley’s arrest record in Kansas, he was convicted of selling and possessing narcotics in 2007. In Maryland, he was found guilty of marijuana possession in 2004.
His criminal record in Maryland stated Lashley was arrested but not convicted for assault twice between 2004 and 2011. One of his accusers was a woman.
According to divorce court documents, Lashley paid a $32 fee towards “funding of victims of domestic violence” May 2013.
