YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown police say the body of a man in his 20s was found on the side of the road Thursday morning.

The body was found along Ford Avenue between Broadway and Emerson Place, right behind Park Vista on Fifth Avenue.

Someone going to work just after 6 a.m. called police, saying a naked man was lying dead in the grass by the sidewalk.

“It looked like someone just dropped him by the side of the road,” said Chief of Detectives Capt. Rod Foley said.

Detectives and crime scene personnel checked several nearby lots and yards for any evidence. There were no clothes around the body.

Foley said there are no obvious signs of something suspicious causing the man’s death, but he said the coroner’s office will have to do a more thorough examination to determine how he died.

Earlier Thursday morning around 4:30 a.m., someone called police to report a body at the former CVS drug store at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Eastbound Service Road. Officers checked the area, but couldn’t find anything. Foley said it’s possible that caller confused the location.

The body has not been identified.
