BOARDMAN, Ohio (WYTV) – A Boardman police officer is on paid leave pending an investigation into his arrest.
According to court documents, Patrick Klingensmith, 46, of Canfield, is charged with domestic violence, endangering children, obstructing official business and dereliction of duty surrounding a Dec. 15 incident.
According to a police report from that day, officers were called about 1:21 a.m. to a home in Boardman where a woman told officers that Klingensmith had been drinking and was being “loud.”
She said the two argued and that she left with her children and went to a neighbor’s house to call police.
According to the police report, the woman stayed with the neighbors for the night and Klingensmith spent the night at the house.
The scene was cleared without incident, according to the police report.
The report did not indicate why charges were filed.
Police haven’t released further details on the charges against him.
Klingensmith was booked into the Mahoning County Jail Tuesday. He is currently free on bail.
