YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The bids for the Mahoning County Courthouse restoration project are in and county commissioners are happy with the costs.
The project was expected to cost almost $7 million, but the contractor bid Wednesday came in at $4 million.
“We are under budget on the bids, so that gives us a lot of room to do even more on the courthouse,” said Mahoning County Commissioner Anthony Traficanti. “If there are unknowns, being under budget we will have extra money if something should arise.”
The current project includes replacing the massive statues on top of the courthouse.
