AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Austintown police and state troopers are searching for a shooting suspect.
It happened just before midnight near the Fox Run apartments, just beyond Mahoning Avenue.
Police said a young man was shot and hurt. He was rushed to the hospital for surgery, but police said he should live.
Lt. Jordan Yacovone said the victim was visiting the apartment complex and witnesses said he was shot following an argument, but he does not yet know what the argument was about.
Yacovone said he hopes to visit the victim today at St. Elizabeth Health Center, where he is being treated, so he can get more information.
Police have yet to make an arrest.
Right now, they’re looking for a car but they did not give us a description.
