WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – An Ashtabula County grand jury indicted a Roaming Shores, Ohio man this week in connection with the human remains of a Warren girl found at his property in August.
James Brooks was indicted Tuesday on several charges including tampering with evidence and gross abuse of a corpse.
He was already facing federal weapons and drug trafficking charges.
The new charges stem from a drug raid at his home off Route 6 back in August, where investigators said they found Alesha Bell’s charred remains in a fire pit and on other areas around the property.
Ashtabula County Prosecutor Nicholas Iarocci says that Bell’s murder investigation is ongoing by the Sheriff’s Department and other law enforcement agencies.
