Amber Alert issued for girl taken from DE, possibly to OH

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Early Tuesday morning, police issued an Amber Alert for a girl reported missing from Delaware, abducted by a man who police say could be coming to Ohio.

According to the alert, the child’s name is Elinor Trotta, and suspected kidnapper Michael Trotta is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Police are advising anyone who sees suspect Michael Trotta to not approach him.

A dispatcher with the Canfield post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol did not know where in Ohio Trotta is suspected of going.

New Castle County, Delaware Police are looking to arrest Michael Trotta, according to Public Information Officer Tracey Duffy. Police believe he assaulted Elinor Trotta’s mother.

Duffy also said that Trotta is believed to be traveling in a bright red SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer. Trotta has associates throughout the U.S., Duffy said, and may have connections in Ohio.

Police gave the following information on Elinor Trotta:

  • Age now: 3 years old
  • Sex: Female
  • Skin: White
  • Hair: Brown
  • Weight: 60 pounds
  • Description: Last seen wearing a purple puffy coat, pink pants, and “Frozen” sneakers.

According to the Amber Alert, Michael Trotta is:

  • 43 years old
  • Sex: Male
  • Skin: White
  • Hair: Brown
  • Height: 5 feet 8 inches
  • Weight: 160 pounds
  • Description: Last seen wearing all black clothing.
