UPDATE: Roads clear after a semi jackknifed on I-80 east

It happened around mile marker 232 Sunday afternoon

LIBERTY TWP., Ohio (WKBN) – A semi jackknifed on I-80 east bound Sunday afternoon causing traffic to slow.

It happened around mile marker 232 just before 2 p.m.

According to the release, Walid S. Diab, 51, was traveling eastbound on I-80 and the semi traveled off the right side of the road, struck a tree, and jackknifed.

Ohio State Police were on scene and nobody was injured.

The Liberty Township Fire Department and EMS assisted at the crash scene.

The Trumbull County HAZMAT team was also called out because of a diesel fuel leak.

The scene is now cleared and both lanes are open.

OSP is still investigating the accident.

Diab was charged with failure to maintain reasonable control of his vehicle.
