Local News

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Two suspected prostitutes from Cleveland were arrested in Austintown Tuesday afternoon by a police officer posing as a customer.

Police said the women — 30-year-old Brittany Miller and 31-year-old Casey Torres — had advertised escort services in the Youngstown area on Backpage.com. Responding to the ad, the officer set up a meet place at the Austintown Super 8 motel on 76 Drive.

Police said the women arrived in a car containing several devices for sexual purposes, as well as 19 Oxycodone pills.

Police said the women admitted to texting the officer photos and setting up the meeting time. Police said they were identified as women in various photos on Backpage.com.

The women did not admit to owning the drugs, according to a police report.

Torres was charged with soliciting prostitution, promoting prostitution, criminal tools and possession of drugs. Miller was charged with soliciting prostitution, criminal tools and possession of drugs.

Both women were taken to Mahoning County Jail and warned not to come back to the Super 8, or they would be charged with criminal trespass.

Torres and Miller are scheduled to appear in court on the charges at 9:30 a.m. September 7.
