YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) — One of two men who was shot late Monday afternoon on Youngstown’s south side has died.
Reports said 27-year-old Kiondre Davis was found face down on the porch of a 319 E. Florida Ave. home, and his cousin, Devlin Davis, was found in the kitchen. Both had multiple gunshot wounds.
In 2019, Youngstown had 20 homicides. At this time last year, the city had 10 homicides.
Blackburn said the two men were on the porch when someone walked up to them and opened fire. He said the men were on the porch and were not doing anything at the time they were shot.
“As far as we know, they were just sitting on the porch,” Blackburn said.
Blackburn would not comment on a motive but he did say detectives had some “information” that they would try to follow up on Tuesday.
The attack was not related to a string of shootings that have been taking place within a radius of several blocks on that part of the South Side, Blackburn said.
Police also reported two other shootings overnight and a stabbing, where both victims were driven to St. Elizabeth Health Center by a private car.
Just before 11 p.m., a man showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the stomach police said he received after an argument outside the All City Sports Bar on Mahoning Avenue, where a man was shot death inside in 2018.
About 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, a man showed up at the hospital in a bullet-riddled car with gunshot wounds to the lower part of his body. The man said he was shot in his car while he was in front of an E. Evergreen Ave. home.
Police were sent there and recovered several shell casings, Blackburn said.
A woman was arrested for the stabbing, which was a domestic dispute.
