A 69-year-old man was killed and his 66-year-old passenger hurt in the crash in Beaver Township Monday morning

BEAVER TWP., Ohio (WYTV) – A 69-year-old man died in a three-car crash on Western Reserve Road late Monday morning.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol identified that man as Cecil Chamberlain of Carlsbad, California. Troopers said he was driving a Ford Fusion. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

His passenger, a 66-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.

The crash happened around 11:15 a.m. on Western Reserve between Hitchcock and New Buffalo roads near the turnpike.

Troopers said a Jeep Wrangler was headed west on Western Reserve and a GMC Terrain was headed east. The Ford Fusion was behind the GMC Terrain, Highway Patrol said.

The Wrangler and Terrain crashed before the Wrangler hit the Fusion, forcing the Fusion off the side of the road, troopers said. The Terrain also went off the road, according to Highway Patrol.

No one in the Wrangler or Terrain was hurt.

Highway Patrol said someone could face charges in this crash.
