HUBBARD, Ohio (WKBN) – Saint Patrick Parish School of Religion (PSR) students and Hubbard police were collecting donated canned goods Saturday.

They filled a cruiser with non-perishable food items to feed the hungry.

The idea came from second grade students who had to think of a community project.

“Because there’s so many people, we passed out turkeys, I don’t know how many, last week for the holiday. There’s such a great demand every month that the pantry serves,” said Becky Prelee of PSR.

The Hubbard food pantry is open year round. Donation items include non-perishable foods, cleaning or bathing products and school supplies.
