Flu season is here and it’s time to get your kids vaccinated. This year, you can choose between the shot or the nasal spray.
Dr. Frank Esper, from the Cleveland Clinic, said the spray is effective but the shot is the best option.
“While the mist would be an option, the shot is still the recommendation. So this year when kids are going — any age over the age of six months — when a child goes to get a flu vaccine, the pediatricians are really going to stress the importance of the flu shot.”
The flu can lead to pneumonia and other serious complications.
Having your children vaccinated can not only protect them from the flu, but it will also protect people around them who may be high risk.
