GREEN TOWNSHIP, (WYTV) – A Green Township man is in the Mahoning County Jail on child pornography charges.
Police and state agency cars lined up in front of a home on Pleasant Valley Court Thursday morning . It was part of a three-month investigation by Ohio BCI Crimes Against Children Unit, FBI, Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office and Goshen Police Department. The probe began in November, according to a court affidavit.
Police executed a search warrant at the home for electronic media, including videos and still images of juveniles in sexual situations. Agents spent hours looking through computers and other devices.
What they found led to the arrest of Darryl Glen Hipps, 52. He was charged with 15 felony counts, including pandering obscenity involving a minor and pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor. Officials do not believe any of the images involved local children.
The videos depict girls, some appearing to be as young as 3-years-old, engaged in various sex acts with adult men and women.
BCI agents got access to Hipps’ IP address, where they downloaded videos and other electronic images. The affidavit does not say what led police to Hipps.
Hipps has been booked into Mahoning County Jail and will be arraigned next week in Mahoning County Area Court in Sebring.
