DETROIT, Mich. (WYTV) – Kicking off the new year, the folks at Lordstown are gearing up to start producing the brand-new Chevy Cruze, something the executives at GM are excited for.

Monday morning, GM executives briefed journalists from across the globe as part of the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. They say they’re building off tremendous momentum-seeing the highest retail share gain after announcing five redesigns in 2015, including the Chevy Cruze.

Alan Batey said the first generation Cruze quickly became their best-selling passenger car with 3.8 million units sold.

“As we enter into the new year, we have tremendous momentum,” GM Executive Vice President Alan Batey said. “But I believe Chevy is just getting started. The all new 2016 Cruze will arrive in dealer showrooms this spring.”Watch 33 WYTV News Monday at 6 p.m. for live reports from the Detroit auto show.
