Fairview survives a scare from Reynolds

MEADVILLE, Pennsylvania (WYTV) – Leading by seven at halftime, the #8 ranked Fairview Tigers seemed to be cruising towards another victory. Someone forgot to give Reynolds the memo. The Raiders outscored Fairview 21-14 in the second half to send the game to overtime (43-43). In the extra session, the Tigers survived – 48-46 – to advance to the District 10 Class AA Championship game against West Middlesex.

Fairview (21-2) was led by Andy Niland’s 18 points. The Tigers outscored Reynolds in the second quarter 15-9 to take a 29-22 advantage into halftime.

Garhett Frable paced Reynolds (13-11) with 21 points. Jake Leipheimer scored 10 points. The Raiders will now face Mercyhurst Prep in the Consolation game with the opportunity to advance to the state tournament.
