(WKBN) – A well-known Democrat has decided against seeking the party chairmanship in Mahoning County.
Bob Hagan dropped out of the race Monday night, saying he wants to stay in Washington, D.C. to fight for Democratic causes across the country.
Mahoning County Board of Elections Director Joyce Kale-Pesta has indicated she wants the job.
The deadline for Democrats to apply for the position is June 7.
The Mahoning County Democratic Party will meet on June 11 to replace its current chairman, Dave Betras.
