HOWLAND, Ohio (WYTV) – Two people were taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center with non-life threatening injuries after a head-on collision Wednesday evening.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash happened about 5:50 p.m. on state Route 46.

Charlotte Hildreth, 31, of Cortland, was driving north on Route 46 when she lost control of her Chevy Cavalier and went left of center, according to the patrol. Her car struck a southbound Nissan Altima driven by Douglas Deciancio, 45, of Warren.

Hildreth and her passenger, James Snowden, 34, of Youngstown, were taken to the hospital. Deciancio was treated at the scene for a hand injury, the patrol said.

Both southbound lanes of Route 46 were closed for about an hour following the crash. The patrol is still investigating.
