Hometown Hero helps raise money for family who lost loved one

The business raised around $350 for the family

HUBBARD, Ohio (WYTV) - Our hometown hero series takes us to Hubbard this week, to a Pizza shop trying to make a difference for a family in need.

Brittany McElroy is the manager for Marco's Pizza in Hubbard.

She set up a fundraiser for the family of a young man who unexpectedly passed away.

A portion of their sales Tuesday night were donated to the family.

Brittany doesn't know the family on a personal level, she just felt compelled to help.

"We all experience loss and we all have the opportunity to reach out and help somebody in need. And to benefit somebody who is going through a difficult time. And I've had people help me and I want to constantly help people in return," she said.

The business raised around $350 for the family.

They tell me they have another fundraiser in the works to benefit another Hubbard family, the family of a veteran lost by suicide.
