West Branch's T.J. DeShields wins 33's Male Student Athlete of the Year

DeShields was All Conference in three different sports, plus carried a 3.98 GPA.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) - West Branch senior T.J. DeShields took home top honors at the annual 33 Student Athlete of the Year banquet at Mount Carmel Wednesday. 

DeShields was named WYTV's Male Student Athlete of the Year. He was a three-sport star for the Warriors in football, basketball, and baseball.

T.J. was an All Conference performer in all three sports, setting multiple school records. 

He carried a 3.98 GPA and was a member of National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. T.J. has volunteered over 100 service hours over the past four years, and is a school mentor for underclassmen.

 After high school, he plans to attend the University of Akron and walk-on to the football team. T.J. will study Criminal Justice with a goal of joining the Secret Service one day.
