YSU shut down Spring football with a shut out in the annual Red-White Game.
The Red Squad beat the White 15-0 on Friday night in front of 1,251 fans at Stambaugh Stadium, earning a sixth straight win in the intersquad scrimmage series. Junior QB Todd Rowan was named MVP of a game, going 11-16 for 92 yards and a touchdown. Redshirt freshman Paul Corsaro completed all five of his passes for 19 yards. Toledo transfer Brandon Summers finished 7-17 passing for 80 yards and one INT.
The other star of the game was sophomore wide receiver Dominique Barnes. He saved a touchdown with a tackle on a long kickoff return and threw a 22 yard touchdown to Aaron Pitts. Senior tailback was the top rusher with eight carries for 44 yards.
Redshirt freshman Josh Lee caught the other touchdown in the game off a deflected pass. Junior Bob Gratz connected on a 37 yard field goal for the Red Team.
Defensively, redshirt freshman Brad Miller recorded a pair of sacks and sophomore Andre Elliot grabbed the game's only interception. Senior De'Angelo Wilson had a game high six tackles, and senior Mychal Savage had three tackles, a sack and one blocked kick.
