Weekend Voting

Today was the first day for weekend voting in the state of Ohio, and people are already taking advantage of the extra hours. Supporters of Presidential hopeful Barack Obama took the opportunity to vote at the Mahoning County Board of Elections. Afterward, the campaign brought people together for a cookout at Club Deja-Vu right across the street. Those their say early voting is a great way to avoid long lines come Election Day.

"WE'RE TRYING TO ENCOURAGE OTHER FOLKS TO VOTE EARLY. WE DON'T WANT ANYONE TO BE DISENFRANCHISED BY FACING LONG LINES ON THE DAY OF THE ELECTION. SO WE WANT TO ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO VOTE EARLY TO AVOID ANY PROBLEMS AT THE POLLS."--James Locker Youngstown

The Mahoning County board of elections will be open Saturdays from nine until four, and Sundays from one to five through the election.
