City Leaders React To "Rolling Stone" Article
|
The October 2nd edition of "Rolling Stone" features a headline on the cover referring to the armored car company heist in Liberty committed by Roger Dillon and Nicole Boyd back in late 2007. Both are now in federal prison . The article's author makes several negative references to Youngstown, one calling it "the armpit of Ohio." It's not sitting well with some who are trying to focus on the area's positives. While the author reportedly claims he wasn't trying to bash the city, "Defend Youngstown" founder Phil Kidd believes the article is meant to romanticize Dillan and Boyd, and blame their crimes on their environment. The couple, who had been living together in Boardman at the time of the heist, were convicted last summer.
