Packard Car Show by Peggy Sinkovich

As they have for the last 19 years, owners of these Packards are returning to their birthplace, Warren, Ohio.  Some come as far as California to spend a few days with others who share their passion.

"It was the only car of it's kind in the world," said Gene Tareshawty, of Austintown.

Class, distiction, and quaility were words often used to describe the Packard which many car enthusiasts say is the Rolls Royce of the American automobile.  And whle, the owners are as different as the cars they drive they all have the same loyalty to the Packard, saying today's automobiles can't compare.

"I don't even look at them today, you can't tell what they are unless you run up to the bumper," said Tareshawty. "The days of style are finished."

Though the cars were expensive for their time, owners say they delivered in terms of style and performance.

"It's very comfortable riding and some pretty nice sytle," said John H. McCoy of California.

And Jim Balfour of Michigan agreed saying, "Packard started a tradition of the best American cars of his era."

If you'd like to take a look at some of the Packard's they will be on display all weekend at the National Packard Museum on Mahoning Avenue in Warren.
