For years, private pilots saved thousands of dollars bypassing Ohio, for states without the tax.

Meanwhile, local maintenance businesses lost millions of dollars in revenue.

The owner of Winner Aviation, a company based at the Youngstown Warren Regional Airport, hopes to attract new customers and hopefully bring more jobs to the area.

"What it means for us, is we can now concentrate on growing our maintenance business in the state of Ohio, because we can be competitive with other competitors we have in states like New York and Michigan.", Rick Hale, Winner Aviation.

Right now, sixty-five people are employed at Winner Aviation.
