Dog Eat Dog

A vicious dog attack on Youngstown's west side has one family saying enough is enough.  Their dog is recovering after being injured earlier this week by the neighbor's animals.

Larry Vines,  Dog Attacked;  "THEY WERE BITING HIS EAR, THEY WERE LIKE BOTH DOGS WERE ON BOTH SIDES OF THE EARS, PULLING HIM HARD."

Larry Vines describes how his neighbors dogs, a pit bull and an American bull dog, attacked his 6 year old Shari Pei, Ceasar.  He tried to break up the animals outside his North Evanston home, but the bull dog bit him several times on his hands and ankle.

Larry;   "HE WAS ON A LEASH RIGHT IN THE FRONT YARD, THEIR DOGS JUST RAN OVER BECAUSE THEY JUST OPENED UP THE DOOR...THEY DON'T PUT THEM ON LEASHES."

The Tuchek's, who own the animals in question, told the Dog Warden only one dog was involved.

Dave Nelson, Dog Warden;   "A 14 YEAR OLD BOY WAS BRINGING AN AMERICAN BULL DOG OUT OF THE HOME, AS HE WAS BRINGING HIM OUT, HIS HAND GOT TWISTED...IS WHAT HE TOLD ME...AND THE DOG BROKE LOOSE."

But Larry and his mother Mia Brown say both dogs are always loose...in fact, they say they weren't on their leashes back in April...the first time they attacked Ceasar.

Mia Brown, Dog Attacked;  "MY DOG IS SUFFERING, HE IS JUST HEALED FROM APRIL 18TH. NOW JULY FIRST, HERE WE GO THROUGH THIS AGAIN.  HE'S 10 TIMES WORSE."

The Dog Warden cited the Tucheks for not restraining the American bull dog.  He has no record of the April incident, so the owners must now face a judge.

Nelson;  "THE OTHER DOGS THAT MAY HAVE BITTEN SOMEBODY IN THE PAST AS FAR AS THAT WE HAVE TO WAIT, CONTACT THE PROSECUTOR AND A JUDGE WILL MAKE THAT RULING."

For Larry and Mia, who just moved to the West Side in February...that's not enough.

Mia;  "AND I'M MOVING OUT, YOU SEE I HAVEN'T UNPACKED WE WON'T STAY, I WON'T STAY HERE AT ALL."
