Trumbull County Inmate Work

When it comes to county maintenance and offenders re-paying debts back to the society in which they live, Trumbull County has found a way to combine both and in the process, maybe even "build a better mousetrap"!

Trumbull County has realized that, by having local inmates do some community work, they can save money which can be allocated elsewhere.

At the same time, the inmates are also given the opportunity to somewhat give back to the areas in which they committed their non-violent crimes.

A group of non-violent inmates are cutting lawns around Warren, helping reduce that area's maintenance costs. This is just one example of the program's incredible success since its inception just last year by the Trumbull County Sheriff's office.

The program seems to be a win-win-win situation :  it helps cut down on county costs for community upkeep, it gives the inmates an opportunity to somewhat pay back society, and while doing so, may even provide those inmates with a new found feeling of accomplishment and self-worth.
