The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident involving an off-duty Youngstown Police officer.

It happened around three thirty Thursday morning on Salt Springs Road in Youngstown.  The officer, forty year old Detective Sgt. Robert Deichman, was driving an unmarked police cruiser.  Reports say a tractor trailer driven by thirty-eight year old David Feliciano of Berlin Center pulled out of a private drive into the path of Deichman. 

Deichman was not wearing a seat belt and  pronounced dead at the scene.
